Above is the community profile map for a barangay in Paco-Pandacan, Manila. Unilever and LIFE partnered to collect data on different barangays in the area.  The barangay profiling activity in 2004 had these Lumban leaders and residents volunteering their services. Not only did they learn firsthand the skills that they would later use to assist other communities (a source of income for them when LIFE needed their assistance to do profiling in other communities) that desire “profiling” but they also gained a better understanding of the environmental conditions in their community and of importance of environmental awareness.
